Ongoing engagement with QWMN in the world of covid-19

Right now, either at home or work, you are adjusting to this Coronavirus affected world and we really hope that you and your family and friends are doing well. We are planning how we can adapt our QWMN engagement activities and we are eager to understand how we can best continue to engage with you.

At the QWMN Forum in February, participants shared their interests in a broad mix of topics that we are keen to explore further in different and creative ways. After the Easter break we will be looking to do so through various online engagement activities.

Topics or themes that we are seeing as key areas for engagement activities include:

  • How to best to utilise climate change and climate variability scenarios in water management and modelling?
  • Exploring how remote sensing information and data might be of greater benefit to water modelling
  • What climate information data sets match with the range of water modelling tasks that need to be undertaken in Queensland?
  • Collective open source modelling development, with an emphasis on postgraduate student and postdoctoral fellow involvement
  • Ground water modelling and ground water/surface water interactions

Beyond these, are there any other burning topics that you would like the QWMN Community of Practice to consider?  Maybe there is something you might like to champion with the group?  Happy to hear your suggestions either side of Easter – contact me by email [email protected] or call me on 0407915672.

Take care and stay healthy.
